Step 1: CarMen will discuss with you your budget, the type of vehicle that you are looking for and the RAWS Compliance process. This is when you let us know your wish list of features and requirements you looking for: some must haves - and those that are flexible. Step 2: CarMen invoices you for a deposit of $1100 (inc GST). This deposit goes towards the purchase of the vehicle. A buyer’s fee of $550 is included in this amount, and is non-refundable. Step 3: All vehicle specifications and requirements are confirmed, including on-road cost estimations. Step 4: CarMen will start searching for your vehicle through one of our trusted overseas buyers. Each vehicle is hand-picked. We are in regular contact with our buyers - No vehicle will be purchased without it being fully inspected to ensure CarMen’s high standard and quality. Step 5: When a suitable match is found within your budget we will contact you. Step 6: When the purchase of the vehicle is confirmed, an invoice will be issued to cover the purchase price and local Japanese charges & fees. This is paid to CarMen prior to the vehicle being shipped from Japan. At this point an application for a Vehicle Import Approval is made to the Federal Office of Road Safety. Step 7: Your vehicle will be booked and shipped on the next available KIWI Car Carrier destined for Brisbane. It will take anywhere from 2 – 4 weeks to arrive and clear through Customs. CarMen will invoice all freights, customs and import duties to you to be paid as a progress payment. Step 8: CarMen will arrange collection from the wharf to our workshop where compliance will commence. Any items required to pass RAWS Compliance - such as removal of previously installed modifications, minor repairs and safety certificate requirements, must be performed prior to your vehicle being approved by the Department. Step 9: CarMen can either register your vehicle in QLD prior to collection, or arrange for transportation to your nominated location. Final payment is made prior to vehicle delivery. Step 10: Enjoy your fully Imported Vehicle! |
